Brazil’s most emblematic hotel, the Copacabana Palace celebrates, in 2023, the centenary of its inauguration in August 1923. Its architecture was inspired by the hotels of the French Riviera and which already housed a casino before the hotel opened. During these last 100 years, the hotel has remained a meeting and event venue for Rio de Janeiro’s high society, and has hosted countless artists, personalities and dignitaries, such as Walt Disney, Orson Welles, King George VI (father of Queen Elizabeth II), Princess Diana, Mick Jagger, Madonna and Beyoncé, among others.
