Designed by architect Ruy Othake, Unique is one of São Paulo’s most emblematic buildings, with boat-shaped architecture. The hotel opened its doors in 2002. It was conceived by pharmaceutical entrepreneur Victor Siaulys (who died in 2009), founder of Laboratórios Aché, and it is currently managed by his family. Its halls often host large financial market events.

Amenities: Skye restaurant and bar, on the hotel’s rooftop, overlooks Ibirapuera Park and the buildings on Paulista Avenue. Commanded by chef Emmanuel Bassoleil, the venue features a varied menu of contemporary and Japanese cuisine. There is also a cafeteria located in the lobby, called The Wall (in homage to Pink Floyd), which can be used for business meetings.

Business and events tips: The hotel offers a 21,500-square-foot space in the building’s basement for corporate or social events. The venue can be divided into more than one room, depending on the needs of the occasion.

What’s nearby: The hotel is close to Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo’s most famous green area, where there are buildings designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, such as the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), the Afro-Brazilian Museum, the Oca, the São Paulo Biennial Pavilion, the Ibirapuera Auditorium, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), which is nearby. The location also has easy access to the region of Avenida Faria Lima, which concentrates offices of companies in the financial market, and to the neighborhoods of Itaim and Vila Nova Conceição, where there are several renowned restaurants.
