With over 170 years of history, Grupo Pantaleón has become one of the emblematic companies in the sugar and alcohol industry. Diego Herrera, the current CEO, is the head of this family of Guatemalan businessmen. Under his direction, the company has a presence from the US all the way to Chile, Mexico and Brazil. In these markets, Pantaleón manages sugar mills and production plants, as well as power generators. In 2020, the company led anti-Covid efforts in Guatemala with the donation of thousands of liters of ethyl alcohol and the reconversion of several production lines to manufacture sanitizers.
