Claudia Márquez has more than 25 years of experience and is one of the most recognized women in the automotive industry. In 2020 she faced one of the most challenging years of her career, just four months after taking over as CEO and president of Hyundai’s Mexican subsidiary, she had to deal with the pandemic. Márquez devised a plan to launch two car models in the SUV and sedan categories in the year of the economic crisis, in addition to maintaining consumer prices, despite the historic drop in sales in the sector. During the confinement, she provided transportation for health personnel. While the economy gets back on track, the board of directors face the challenge of increasing the brand’s market share in the country, at a time when the shortage of semiconductors is delaying manufacturers’ plans.
