Mario Simán, president of Grupo Unicomer, continues to strengthen its presence in Latin America. Simán manages a multilatina with presence in 26 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, operates 25 commercial brands (the most emblematic, La Curacao) 1,144 stores and generates 13,000 jobs. In December 2021, Fitch Ratings upgraded Grupo Unicomer’s outlook from stable to positive, as it expects a post-pandemic recovery, with a 7% increase in consolidated revenues by 2022. In 2019, Boston Consulting Group included Grupo Unicomer in its Top 100 Multilatinas, making it one of three Central American representatives on the list.
