Luciano Berenstein is country manager at Albemarle Argentina, a company specializing in bromine and lithium, which plays a key role in the sector’s investments in the country, which is the second country with the most resources of the world’s white gold. For example, this year the firm announced a US$47 million disbursement in a lithium exploration campaign in Argentina, after obtaining the environmental permits for the project in the province of Catamarca. Berenstein took over as general manager after resigning as executive director of the Argentine Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs and will oversee a program that is expected to generate more than 200 jobs in the initial stage, the lithium company said in a statement.
