Marcelo Claure

Marcelo Claure is a Bolivian businessman who has served as COO of SoftBank, the Japanese holding company that has invested in the likes of Uber and WeWork. Today he leads his family office, Claure Group, which is worth more than US$2 billion. His main focus is on developing the tech startup ecosystem in Latin America, for which he created his own venture capital fund, called Bicycle Capital, in 2023. The fund aims to raise $500 million and already has $440 million in commitments, including a $200 million injection from Mubadala Investment Co. and $200 million from Claure Group. The fund is made up of former executives from SoftBank. He also has a passion for soccer and is the president of Bolivar, one of the most popular clubs in Bolivia.
