Renata Milanese became, in July 2022, the General Manager of BASF in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. With more than 20 years of experience in the chemical industry, the executive became the first female CEO of this multinational in the country. A chemical engineer with a master’s degree and an MBA in Business Administration, Milanese joined BASF in Brazil in 1999 and during her first years worked in different areas of the company. BASF is one of the leading companies in the chemical sector; in 2021 it generated sales in excess of €78.6 billion (US$85.3 billion at values as of the end of August 2023) and its shares are listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (BAS) and as American Depositary Receipts (BASFY) in the United States.
