Sergio Zimerman is the founder, CEO and controlling shareholder of Petz, the largest company in the pet sector in the Brazilian market, with physical stores and e-commerce in an integrated retail model. At the helm of the company, founded in 2002 as Pet Center Marginal, he attracted an international private equity fund (Warburg Pincus) in 2013 and led the company’s IPO process in 2020, the first in the segment in the country. Petz achieved gross revenues of R$3.4 billion (US$686.6 million) in 2022. More recently, the entrepreneur has led a business diversification process with acquisitions such as Cansei de ser Gato and Zee.Dog and advancement in services.
