Under his leadership, Millicom has expanded its presence with the acquisition of Cable Onda in Panama, and Telefónica’s subsidiaries in Panama and Nicaragua. He also led the initiation of the company’s listing on the NASDAQ Stock Market under the ticker TIGO, complementing the listing on NASDAQ Stockholm. This year it became the protagonist of one of the business news of the year: it signed a memorandum of understanding with Telefónica Movistar to create a new company, whose property will belong to both companies and whose objective is to share their mobile access networks and join efforts for the deployment of new technologies in Colombia. This is of great relevance in the Colombian market due to the fact that the Petro government is expected to soon indicate the conditions to participate in the auction for the renewal of the spectrum and the development of 5G networks.
