Chairman of the Board of the administrator of 16 air terminals located in Mexico, Puerto Rico and Colombia. Asur faced a 54% contraction in passenger traffic in 2020 due to the drop in flight demand related to Covid-19. To overcome this situation, the company activated cost reduction initiatives, renegotiated payment terms with customers and airlines, and temporarily closed two terminals at Cancun airport, the second largest in Mexico. Asur was able to close the year with a liquidity position, sufficient to meet its short-term debt. In view of the progress of the vaccination efforts, the company has begun to notice improved traffic levels, mainly in tourist destinations.
