She was president of Chemours Mexico, a US chemical solutions company, for three years. This year, despite having the world’s largest titanium dioxide production plant in Tamaulipas, she couldn’t prosper in her bid to install a sodium cyanide plant in La Laguna, Durango, due to resistance from local communities. In December 2021, Chemours sold its mining solutions business to Czech company Draslovka for US$521 million. Márquez, since then, has served as global commercial director.
