Gustavo Werneck

Gustavo Werneck da Cunha has been CEO of Gerdau since 2018 and a member of the company’s board of directors. The executive is the first person from outside the Gerdau Johannpeter family to lead the steel producing company in its 121-year history. Werneck has worked at Gerdau for 17 years, where he has also served as corporate chief technology officer (CIO), industrial director of Gerdau India, and executive director of Gerdau Aços Longos e Planos Brasil. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
