Bloomberg Línea Presents The List: 50 Women of Impact In Latin America 2023

This year’s list features entrepreneurs, founders, finance executives, artists, influencers and officials of international organizations

Press Release — Bloomberg Línea, the leading Spanish and Portuguese multiplatform for business and finance News, presents this year’s edition of the 50 Women of Impact in Latin America.

The list is a nod to the efforts of women who have played memorable roles in various sectors, such as finance, the startup sphere, entertainment, arts, and sports.

Bloomberg Línea’s editorial board drew up the list based on submissions from a team of more than 60 editors, reporters, and content producers.

According to the editorial board, 50 Women of Impact in Latin America is a platform that acknowledges the contribution of women demonstrating with results and talent that diversity in the areas they represent is one of the greatest assets of companies and institutions.

Bloomberg Línea chose women who not only excel in their fields but who have also gone beyond those, generating impact on a social level, creating jobs, fostering innovation, and, above all, demonstrating that female leadership is gaining more ground year after year.

The 2023 edition of 50 Women of Impact in Latin America includes personalities such as Mexican actress Eiza González, Brazil’s Anitta, and Colombia’s Shakira and Karol G, alongside women who are leading figures in finance, business, and technology, such as Aimée Sentmat (Banitsmo), Flavia Almeida (Peninsula Partners), Lidian Jones (Slack), Patricia Pomies (Globant) and Samantha Ricciardi (Santander).

The list also includes athletes who have raised the region’s flags: Diana Flores (of Team Mexico, world champion), Yulimar Rojas (a Venezuelan triple jumper), and Brazilian skateboarding star Rayssa Leal.

“These 50 Women of Impact in Latin America reflect some of the female talent and leadership in a region that recognizes the contribution they are making, and which will be followed by many generations of young people who are eager to see more success stories,” said the editorial board.

How the list was compiled

According to Bloomberg Línea’s editorial board, the list is not a ranking, but rather a platform acknowledging the women who are changing the rules of the game in Latin America in business, finance, entertainment, sports and entrepreneurship.

The editorial board considered three aspects for list selection: leadership, business impact & social influence. All these characteristics underscore the importance of the incursion of women into areas such as finance, politics, business, sports, and the arts.

Multiplatform advances

Bloomberg Línea, launched in August 2021, celebrates its content reaching millions of people per month in 18 countries through all its platforms. With the launch of 2023′s 50 Women of Impact, the list adds to its lineup, including the 500 Most Influential People of Latin America and 100 Influential Latinos.

“It’s been 18 months since we launched the brand. We could not be more proud of our content team for embracing these must-needed initiatives,” said Kaio Philipe, Bloomberg Línea’s COO. “In one year and a half, the brand is now reaching over 30 million people monthly. It is a brand with diversity written at its core, with over 50% of the contributors being women. These women take the lead in many areas, a fine example being La Estrategia del Día, the most listened-to business news podcast in Spanish in the Americas (per audio stream podcast daily charts), which Jimena Tolama hosts. We have been breaking the status quo and thriving thanks to a diverse and talented team” Philipe added.
