José Jair Bonilla founded Chiper in 2018, together with Carolina García, Oscar Sarria and Ricardo Ocampo, to drive the digitization of local stores in Latin America, outlets that account for 50% of foodstuffs and goods in the region, but in which fewer than 1% of transactions are handled through e-commerce. The company recently closed a Series B funding for US$53 million.
