José Vélez created the fintech company Bold in 2019, together with four other entrepreneurs: Ana María Sandoval, Sergio Vergara, Enrique Ramírez and Jorge Ulloa. Through it, he seeks to democratize payment methods so that small and medium-sized commercial firms in Colombia can access them and sell more. The company has raised 55 billion Colombian pesos (US$14 million) in total investment and is closing a Series B financing.
