Roberto Kriete

A pilot since his adolescence. At the age of 26, he took control of TACA (Transportes Aéreos del Continente Americano) and took it from a small Salvadoran airline to a Central American group, which integrated Aviateca, Nica and Lacsa in the mid-1990s. In 2009 he merged TACA’s destinations with those of Avianca, and 10 years later he assumed the chairmanship of the airline’s board of directors, backed by United Airlines. He is also owner of Kingsland International Group SA, one of Avianca’s main shareholders. In addition to the aviation industry, he chairs the Gloria Kriete Foundation and is a member of the advisory board of seven other companies, including Applaudo, a pioneer in the export of software development for web and mobile platforms.
