Virgilio Martínez and Pía León continue to achieve recognition as chefs at a global level. With the Central restaurant, this year they climbed to first place on the prestigious list ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’, representing Peruvian gastronomy and crowning themselves as chefs of the best restaurant in the world. Pía León was recognized as the best female chef in the world in 2021 for her restaurant ‘Kjolle’, which ranks 28th on the list of the best restaurants globally. Both Martínez and León have other projects together in Peru, such as Mater Iniciativa, a laboratory that supplies their restaurants, and MIL, an establishment located in Cusco.
