Edgard Corona is the founder and CEO of Smart Fit, the largest fitness company in Latin America, with more than 1,200 gyms in 13 countries and around 4.2 million members. He is considered the pioneer of the low-cost gym model in Brazil and the region, which has multiplied the size of the market. In 1996, he founded Bio Ritmo, one of the largest gym groups in the country. In July 2021, Smart Fit went public on B3, raising 2.3 billion reais (US$473 million), in the sector’s debut on the stock exchange.
