A veteran of Silicon Valley, Jorge López decided to undertake in Cochabamba one of the most important software production projects in the region and turn Bolivia into an IT development hub. He founded Jalasoft with only six engineers, a company that has consolidated its position as the leader in Bolivia, and which is now growing in Latin America. Today, the company has more than 1,000 employees dedicated to software development and is part of the Jala Group, of which Jorge is founder and president. During the last 20 years, Jorge has also developed proposals that promote education in the region. These include a scholarship system, called Fundación del Saber, which works hand-in-hand with Jala University, an online university focused on technology and the development of innovation to increase intellectual capital in the region.
