Tranquilo Favero is 83 years old and owner of the Favero Group. Born in Brazil, he moved to Paraguay in the 1960s to start building an agro-export empire. Considered the “Soybean King”, Favero still holds the reins of a group that produces about 10% of all soybeans in the South American country. The Favero Group is made up of nine companies that compete in the agricultural and livestock sector and in 2020 accompanied an investment by the Global Compact and the IDB Group in key components in the fight against the pandemic.
