He has chaired the Board of Directors since 2010. The industrial giant operates in different segments of the economy such as petrochemicals (Alpek), food (Sigma), telecommunications (Alestra) and oil and gas (Newpek), with which it accumulated revenues of 3.388 billion pesos in the first quarter of 2021, with the help of 57,000 employees. The company has a fifth division, the auto parts manufacturing division (Nemak), from which it initiated a spin-off process. Their goal is to transform from being a conglomerate to a controller of its independent entities, meaning that in the future, other separations are expected until ALFA is left with only the food division as its only asset.
