In 2019, he stepped down as president of Cabify, the Spanish company that competes with transportation apps such as Uber, to found and run Jüsto, an online supermarket. The entrepreneur’s move proved successful as more people opted to buy groceries from home, leading the startup to increase its revenue 16-fold in 2020. In early 2021, it raised $65 million in an investment round led by General Atlantic, which became the largest Series A in Latin America so far. Jüsto started operations in Mexico City and activated its expansion to other large urban centers such as Guadalajara, but its mission is “to become the favorite super in Latin America”.
