Emilio Azcárraga Jean continues the transformation of his television empire as he competes with streaming giants such as Netflix, Amazon and HBO Max after a first attempt with Blim. The second bet goes hand-in-hand with its ally Univision, with the Vix platform. Grupo Televisa reported quarterly earnings of US$157 million in view of an increased participation in the merger between Televisa and Univision. Azcárraga is also preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in Mexico, Canada and the US. The Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, owned by the businessman, has been selected as one of the 16 World Cup venues, and a refurbishment project is among his priorities.
