Raúl Alemán is the president of Banco General, the first and oldest private sector bank in Panama, founded in 1955 and currently the largest in the country, as well being as one of the largest financial companies in Central America. In 2021, Banco General had assets of US$19 million and net income of US$415 million, an increase of 26.5% over 2020. Alemán also chairs the bank’s holding company with Empresa General de Inversiones, which had a net profit in 2021 of US$481 million and under which Petróleos Delta operates.
