In September 2021, he became the first Colombian to hold the presidency of the Latin American Development Bank (CAF), a multilateral lender with a portfolio of more than US$30 billion and 19 member countries. Díaz-Granados is a lawyer by profession and has extensive experience in the public and private sectors. Before joining CAF, he was executive director for Colombia at the IDB Group.
