Bloomberg Línea — Comunica. In, a startup offering solutions for companies to improve their relationships with employees, announced Wednesday that it has raised $2 million in a seed round led by Valor Capital Group, with Norte Capital and Honey Island Capital.
The company says it intends to use the new funding to expand its business, improving services and expanding its team, focusing on accelerating growth in the Brazilian market as well as in the rest of Latin America. “With the new investment round, we will be able to achieve even greater performance, especially in Latin America,” according to Felipe Hotz, CEO of Comunica.
According to data, last year, companies in general invested more than R$148 billion ($26.6 billion) in solutions aimed at their employees and the future of work. The expectation of 74% of companies is that these investments will grow even more in the coming years, and within that scope, investment in employee interfaces and relationships is among the top three priorities.
“We’re excited about the whole scenario that has been unfolding. And, most importantly, we want to help companies with this transformation on a global scale,” Hotz said. “Investing in people, in the way the company relates, communicates, listens and understands each person, in an individualized way, is fundamental for each and every company that will thrive in the coming years,” he added.
Founded in 2018, Comunica now has a presence in 10 countries, with a client portfolio that includes media groups, audits, banks, retailers and companies in the automotive and pharmaceutical sectors. Among the companies are names such as Deloitte, Volvo, Bayer and Electrolux.
“The last two years have made the importance of fluid, transparent and accessible communication in companies even more evident,” Hotz said. “There has never been more talk about culture, engagement and leadership. Comunica is ready to be the strategic partner for companies that want to strengthen the connection with their internal audience and thus generate value for the business.”
