A version of Uber, reloaded and tropicalized, was the idea of the company’s CEO, Gerson Gómez. The company launched in March 2021 and now has an internal team of 100 people for 4.000 trips daily, and more than 5.000 drivers in five cities. The local knowhow regarding the demands and interests of Venezuelans is the differential. When the platform was launched the taxi market was depressed and the company decided to use traditional drivers. Gómez attributes its success to the moment he chose, with the boom in delivery services and the dollarization process in Venezuela.
