Together with Julián Gurfinkel, Martín Levy and Eugenio Fage, Andrés Malenky launched DescuentoCity in 2010. The transformation into TurismoCity is part of the various facets that it explored as the company, which currently has more than 7 million unique users per month, and is the third-largest travel company in Latin America after Despegar and CVC. Eduardo Elsztain (RSA), Martin Migoya (Globant), Francisco Alvarez-Demalde (Riverwood Capital) and Pablo Saubidet (Iplan y Fibertel), among others, joined the travel platform this year as investors during the company’s first funding round that raised US$6 million – a capital inflow that allowed it to acquire the US travel company Farecompare and the Brazilian company Quanto Custa Viajar.
