Marjorie Acosta Ruiz or MJ Acosta Ruiz, a New Yorker of Dominican descent, is the first sports reporter and only Afro-Latina to appear in the NFL Network. She has been part of the networks: NBC 7 and Telemundo and WPLG in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Her curly hair has become an inspiration to many Latinas who are less afraid to show her heritage in their looks.
