The Emiliano pioneered the boutique hotel segment in Brazil with the opening in 2001 of its property on Rua Oscar Freire, in São Paulo. In 2016, the hotel opened a property in Rio de Janeiro, on the occasion of the Olympic Games, on the Copacabana promenade, overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain. The hotel’s facade has a distinctive architecture, with perforated fiberglass panels.

Amenities: The hotel has suites ranging from 45 to 75 square meters, many with views of Copacabana Beach. Its Emile restaurant offers contemporary dishes created by chef Camilo Vanazzi. There is also a rooftop infinity pool, where guests can also have lunch, and a spa.

Business and events tips: Meeting rooms are available for events of up to 200 guests. It also has two 60-square-meter rooms and one 120-square-meter room, plus a conference room that can accommodate up to 16 people.

What’s nearby: Located on Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro’s most famous, the hotel is close to attractions such as the Copacabana Fort and Pedra do Arpoador, in an area with many hotels, bars and restaurants, including Gero and Satyricon. There is easy access to Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Leblon, where there are also good dining and shopping options.
