Carolina Castro is a member of the Argentine Industrial Union’s (UIA) Executive Committee. Over the last 15 years she has been in charge of the family business, the auto part company Industrias Guidi alongside her mother. She is one of the leading women at UIA, but her profile rose to national prominence when Alberto Fernández invited her to participate in the Independence Day event and placed her next to him. Former president of the UIA, Miguel Acevedo, proposed Castro replace him in his position, but the organization eventually ruled out the possibility of having a woman in charge for the first time.
