Blas Zapag and his family own Copetrol, one of the main fuel distributors in Paraguay, with a network of 360 service stations. It owns a large fleet of barges with which it imports fuels from China. He is currently on the verge of completing the largest private investment in his country, a mega cellulose pulp production plant, which will require an investment of US$3.2 billion and will create some 40,000 jobs.
