Chieko Aoki chairs the Blue Tree Hotels network of hotels, which she created in 1997. Chieko has a law degree from the University of São Paulo, and studied management courses at the University of Sofia, in Tokyo, and hotel management at the University from Cornell. Today the company has 23 active hotels in 17 cities. Chieko was born in Japan and came to Brazil with her family at the age of six and she is one of the representatives of the Mulheres do Brasil group, along with Luiza Helena Trajano.
