Pioneers of the entrepreneurial capital industry in Mexico, Federico Antoni and Fernando Lelo de Larrea have been investing since 2012 in entrepreneurs who create new industries and change the economy in Mexico and Latin America. The partners, who became friends after completing a master’s degree at Stanford, invested US$250 million in the Chilean startup Cornershop. They only had to wait six years to see that value quintupled after the total acquisition of the company by Uber, which marked the most important exit so far from their portfolio of companies and the largest in the history of the region. Today they have capital invested in around 30 companies and they recently invited the Chilean Antonia Rojas as a partner of the fund, whom they define as one of the most promising investors.
