Héctor Hernández-Pons has been at the helm of Grupo Herdez for 16 years, in addition to chairing the Board of Directors. The company is gradually expanding beyond its core business of processed foods by integrating the ice cream or coffee category with brands such as Cielito Querido Café, Lavazza, Moyo and Nutrisa. In February 2021, the company announced the implementation new technologies in its production process to enhance the business and introduce digital culture to its personnel. The implementation will represent an investment of US$15 million over the next five years. The company is aligned with six Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 agenda.
