He dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the expansion of Corporativo Fragua, operator of Farmacias Guadalajara, the chain that pioneered the super pharmacy concept in Mexico. Since January 2019, he has been the executive chairman of the corporation, but before that he had already been serving as chairman of the board and CEO of the group. The pharmaceutical sector was one of the biggest winners from the pandemic. In 2020, total pharmacy sales grew 18.4%, even as other businesses closed, the corporation continued to create points of sale and its growth plan was not affected by Covid-19, as 130 units were opened to reach a total of 2,298 pharmacies.
