Luz Elena Jurado was the first woman to assume the general management of a heavy vehicle manufacturer in Mexico. In July 2021, seven months after the company announced that it would stop selling new trucks and tractor-trailers in Mexico, she accepted the challenge of becoming general manager of the truck and bus division in Argentina. After 22 years at Volvo Group, this would be the first time that she’s assigned the mission of growing a market outside Mexico. Jurado’s task will be to position the brand in the trucking industry of the South American country, in a in a high inflation scenario.
