Bloomberg Línea — Since Monday, September 18, 2023, all iPhone users with phones released after 2018 can download the new operating system iOS 17, which comes with exciting features for Apple enthusiasts. The update process is straightforward and only requires completing some very intuitive steps.
This year’s changes include improvements in some of the most commonly used apps, including the Phone app, Messages, and Safari. Additionally, iOS 17 introduces “contact posters,” which allow users to select an image and a font to change their appearance when calling other people’s iPhones, as well as an improved autocorrector. It also features a new iMessage interface, roadside assistance, and automatic “I arrived home safely” notifications, among other things.
The new update comes with a warning from Apple when you are too close to the phone. However, this can be disabled in the settings. Among the new features, there is also an app called Journal, which is expected to come in the next versions of the update. The app monitors feelings that you input into the app, like a diary.

How to install iOS 17
The website Applesfera explains that “since it’s not a beta version or anything similar,” the installation process is as simple as:

According to the technology-focused website Xataka, there are only three requirements to install iOS 17 (or any other version): having an internet connection, having at least 20% battery, and having sufficient available storage.
However, it is possible that the process may not proceed, get stuck at a certain point, or have the progress bar complete without installation. The first thing to mention is that this can be completely normal, although there are certain aspects worth checking that could also speed up the download.
In case of any delay, it is recommended to:
- Always prioritize Wi-Fi over mobile data.
- Minimize internet consumption as much as possible.
- Restart the entire process if there is a delay.
“There are several ways to update an iPhone, and one of them is with a computer. In fact, it can be the fastest way if it is connected via Ethernet cable to the router or if, alternatively, its Wi-Fi speed is greater than that of the iPhone itself,” emphasizes the Xataka article.
