Bimbo is one of the most global Multilatinas (mega companies whose origin of capital is found in Latin America). The Servitje family, headed by Daniel Servitje Montull, took advantage of the Covid-19 crisis to put into action energy efficiency plans in all global operations. In Mexico, Bimbo already obtains 80% of its electricity consumption from renewable sources. The company estimates that in four years, all of the energy in the 33 global markets where it operates will come from green sources. The company had a historic year in 2020, closing with sales of US$16,533 million, 11.8% higher than in 2019.
