David Arana Ley

David Arana, one of Mexico’s pioneering fintech entrepreneurs, has been strengthening Konfío’s financial solutions division for small and medium-sized enterprises, which contribute most to the Mexican economy. This year it received US$10 million from Citibanamex, DFC and the Ford Foundation to finance SMEs in the southern states of the country. It also created a digital academy with more than 2,000 on-demand courses to train and boost the skills of businesspeople and entrepreneurs. Konfío was created by Arana in 2013 and has unicorn status as of September 2021.
