Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior

Professor Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior is Rector of the University of São Paulo (USP). He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Riberão Preto, where he also completed his medical residency, master’s and doctoral degrees. In 1998 and 1999, he completed a post-doctoral stay at the Brain Tumor Research Centre in Toronto (Canada). He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, USP, in the division of Neurosurgery of the Department of Surgery. Carlotti Junior specialized in neurosurgery and is a full professor and researcher at the same university. Before being elected rector of USP in 2021, he was dean of Postgraduate Studies at USP (from 2016 to 2021).
