Gilberto Mautner is one of Locaweb’s founding partners. The technology company’s debut on the Brazilian stock exchange in early 2020 raised Mautner’s net worth to 1.23 billion reais (US$251.8 million), according to Forbes data from June 2021. Mautner studied electrical engineering at ITA (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica), holds a master’s degree in theoretical physics from Unesp and studied applied machine learning at Columbia College of Engineering in New York, one of the best and oldest engineering schools in the United States. Mautner is currently a partner at Mago Capital, a venture capital firm founded and funded by experienced entrepreneurs, which recently invested, together with Lightrock, in Agrolend’s US$27 million round.
