Juan Sebastián Betancur represents Colombia on the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund, after having been Director of Macroeconomic Policy at the Ministry of Finance, where he worked for seven years and for three governments. The management of this economist from the Universidad de los Andes, master in economics from the same institution, is recognized for having faced the high levels of spending to counteract the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and for having been part of the Petro government’s tax reform process up to its first debate.
