Laura Barnator became in 2020 the first woman to head the regional and Uruguayan operations of FMCG company Unilever. Laura Barnator has had a close relationship with the company since her childhood, as her father worked there, and she herself has been an employee of the company for 29 years. During the pandemic, she was forced to adjust the company’s strategy in order to increase demand for essential products. Unilever has more than 400 brands worldwide and products are marketed in more than 190 countries. It employs 3,500 people in the country.
