Martin Escobari

Martin Escobari is the co-president and Head of Latin America at General Atlantic, a global investment firm. Born in Bolivia, he has lived in Brazil and the US. Escobari holds an economics degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He co-founded Submarino.com in 1999, then managed Advent International. Joining General Atlantic in 2012, he led investments in XP Inc, Arco, QuintoAndar, Hotmart, and Gympass. Appointed co-chairman in 2020, he heads the Global Investment Committee and serves on boards of portfolio companies. He’s on the boards of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Endeavor, and Primeira Chance, an educational NGO. The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce named him Person of the Year in 2023 for his pivotal role in General Atlantic’s growth.
