Rita Serrano has headed Caixa Econômica Federal since the beginning of 2023, when she replaced the first woman to head the institution, Daniela Marques. Rita has been a career civil servant at the institution since 1989 and has also pursued a career in the banking union movement. Since 2014, she was already part of the bank’s board of directors. She has a degree in social sciences and history and a master’s degree in administration from the University of São Caetano do Sul. In 2018, she published the book “Caixa, Banco dos brasileiros”.
