Roberto Monteiro, a civil engineer from USP, is CEO of PRIO (formerly PetroRio) and has been with the company since 2015. Previously, he was CFO of OGX and OSX, companies in the oil and gas sector of Eike Batista’s group. He has also worked for logistics company ALL (now Rumo). An independent oil producer, PRIO is considered one of the country’s leaders in production in mature fields and last year the company made its largest acquisition: the purchase of Dommo (ex-OGX), for US$180 million. PRIO already has five assets in operation and, this year, reported a 27% growth in reserves. In May, the company announced its first oil discovery, as part of the second phase of the revitalization of the Frade field.
