Tania Ortiz Mena heads one of the most largest companies in Mexico’s energy sector: Sempra Infraestructura, which has assets of more than US$10 billion. She is in charge of pioneering projects in Mexico such as the Energía Costa Azul (ECA) liquefaction plant in Baja California to send liquefied natural gas to Asian markets. Her time at Pemex’s subsidiary, PMI Internacional, gave her experience in new segments in the Mexican market, such as fuel storage terminals. A graduate of the Universidad Iberoamericana in international relations, she has also promoted green projects such as solar and wind power plants on the border with the United States.
