Marisa Llorens is one of the most influential businesswomen in Paraguay, dedicated to the agricultural and livestock sector. From 2000 to 2012 she was the owner and president of Frigomerc, one of the main beef processing operations in Paraguay. That until the sale to the Minerva group was completed, with Minerva taking the majority of the two slaughter plants’ shares. Born in Switzerland, Marisa currently serves as director of the Botanical garden and Zoo of Asunción. In August 2020, she partnered with former president Horacio Cartés in the Cartés Group’s debut in the beef processing business sector. The Chajhá plant will begin operating in 2022. This project represented an investment of approximately US$60 million.
